Our Mission

A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned cats and dogs throughout Northern Utah.

We rely on our amazing volunteers who open their hearts and homes to furbabies in need because we do not have a brick-and-mortar building. All of our animals get to live in loving foster homes for as long as it takes to find their forever family!

Founded in 2007, we strive to improve animal welfare through community building and public education. ANBAR only adopts out animals who have been dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered. We promote responsible pet ownership and do not condone declawing or debarking pets.

Our mission is to give every animal A New Beginning by doing our part in this tiny corner of the world to reduce suffering and unnecessary euthanasia. We want to remind our furbabies what love and acceptance feels like!

Join us at our weekly adoption events which are held at Petco in Layton Utah from 12-4pm on most Saturdays.
