At A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR), fostering is the heart of everything we do. Because we are a 100% foster-based rescue, we rely entirely on a compassionate network of volunteers who open their homes—and their hearts—to homeless cats and dogs in need.
What Is Pet Fostering?
Fostering is a short-term commitment that will prove to be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!
You simply provide a temporary home to an animal while they wait for their furever family to adopt them.
As a foster, we ask that you help them adjust to a loving home environment, give them the care and attention they need, and prepare them for a brighter future.
Fosters provide basic supplies (food, litter, toys, bed, etc.) but ANBAR covers all approved medical care to include deworming, vaccinations, microchips and spay or neuter and any additional needs.
Together, we ensure they have the love, warmth, safety and socialization that many have yet to experience.​​
Why Fostering Matters
Fostering saves lives. Quite literally.​ Without fosters, animals facing homelessness, abandonment, or high-risk shelter conditions may have nowhere to go.
Fostering provides a second chance for these pets to heal, thrive, and find their happily ever after.​ Because we don’t have a shelter building, foster homes are the only way we can rescue animals in need. Every foster family means one more life saved.
Who Can Foster?
You don’t need special experience, just a willingness to care. We match fosters with animals that best fit their home and lifestyle. Whether you can foster a kitten for a few weeks or provide long-term care for a senior dog, there's a way for almost anyone to help.

If you're not ready to be a foster parent - that's ok! We have other ways you can support our Utah-based animal rescue.
We accept monetary donations and supply donations that help our critical and neglected animals.

​As a nonprofit organization, we ensure 100% of all donations go toward the care of animals. YOU have the opportunity to make a difference, to fund life-saving operations and comfort exams or fill hungry bellies.
